Meet Lula
Noelia Barrera found Lula in 2013 on the street of Mendoza in an emergency situation, she had distemper, a disease that attacks mainly puppies when vaccines and care are lacking.
Distemper attacks the respiratory tract, stomach/intestines, and central nervous system.
Thankfully she survived, but with sequels, she was never able to walk.
Her desire to live inspired us to fight to improve the quality of life of so many stray dogs in our city.
Here, most people have dogs to protect their property only, many of them stay outside without shelter, chained. The city does not have laws that protect animals and the country's economic problems worsen this situation, leaving many dogs on the streets without proper care and vaccinations
Meet Noelia.
Noelia always had the need to help, and with Lula it intensified even more, she started rescuing only a few dogs and taking them to her apartment, when she least expected it, there were too many.
The beginning was hard, after a couple of weeks she found herself fighting alone, trying to feed and heal sick dogs, most of them, puppies.
Despite this, she never gave up, and over the time, with the help of friends, together we got our own place and created "La Casita de Lula" (Lulas's little house).
Now Noelia is not alone, we are not too many, but we work together as a team to help improve our place, it's not easy, we have so much to do!!!!

Growing little by little
Today, Noelia has become known thanks to her good works and through social media. Some people have committed to help, either with food, help paying vet expenses, transport, etc.
But unfortunately Argentina is going through a tough economic crisis and the help that we receive from locals is not enough, at this time we have more than 100 dogs in the shelter, some of them are sick, some puppies, some disable and they need special care.
IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW MUCH YOU DONATE, ANYTHING HELPS! WE NEED VACCINES, MEDICINE, FOOD, CONSTRUCCION MATERIALS, PAY VET DEBTS, PAY TRANSPORTATION, AND MORE.
